Redemption Church Denver was planted to create a Gospel-centered, community in the heart of Denver. We believe church is a good thing, both for those who explicitly take part and for the surrounding community.
This form is to be completed by all applicants for any position involving working with minors. It is being used to help the church provide a safe and secure environment for those children and youth who participate in our programs and use our facilities.
We prefer that all Redemption Kids Volunteers commit to three months of service (typically one time each 4-6 weeks). This begins the first Sunday you serve.

To better define the roles of the workers in each classroom, we have noted brief descriptions as follows. Please take some time to read through them to familiarize yourself with your choices. All volunteers will be scheduled according to their preferences on a per quarter basis.
All classes follow the Desiring God curriculum. The lessons will be prepared for each teacher and all necessary supplies will be ready for you in your classroom. You will be responsible to read and become familiar with the lesson. It will be available on planning center for you to read prior to the Sunday you teach.
Babies like to be held, explore and touch everything...many times with their mouths. It is a peaceful room where the sermon is played via audio. Be prepared for some crying, drool and diaper changes. And lots of cuddling. Each baby must return with a filled out nursery report.
Walking babies and toddlers have lots of energy and want to explore everything. There is rarely a dull moment. This is also the most popular age for separation anxiety; therefore, babies will need to be distracted and keep moving with a variety of toys, books and objects. Music will be played. Each baby must return with a filled out nursery report.
These kids will enjoy a time of worship led by the director. This room will have the a short toddler lesson plan. Encourage children to participate in the lesson and leave lots of play and snack time. Some may be in diapers or potty training.
*Potty training is a requirement to be in this class This group will enjoy a time of worship and bible lesson during the beginning of the service led by the director. This is a focused learning group, that follows a lesson plan with games and projects. The understanding should be thorough so that they can explain what they learned to parents. There is play and snack time at the end.

This group will attend worship together in the main church service with their teacher at the beginning of the service. This group will stay focused on the Bible scripture and lesson. These kids can read and write and these is more comprehension if biblical understanding. There are components of Bible memorization, reading scripture and activities to promote understanding. These students are expected to carry out Biblical concepts into their individual lives. Snack may occur at end.
(Friendly, helpful, works well with others) All volunteers assisting the room lead are responsible for welcoming children and engaging them in activities before class time begins. Assistants are also expected to help their room lead with any other tasks. Assistants also help during the large group activity to run the computer for music and videos.
