What is Gotham?
Redemption Denver has teamed up with the Center for Faith and Work to bring you Gotham, an intensive discipleship program developed by Timothy Keller and David Kim at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City. This 9-month program takes a community of 10-14 people through an integrated curriculum on theology, worldview, and faith & work. This curriculum is specifically designed to empower a community of influencers with the tools needed to enact creative expressions of gospel transformation for the betterment of our city.
The Gotham Fellowship integrates three primary elements to further the social, cultural, and spiritual renewal of Denver:
At the core of the program is the commitment to consider how the gospel impacts every area of life. Gotham helps to develop a worldview that draws from the deep resources of the Reformed tradition and is sufficiently robust to engage the diverse and complex culture of Denver.
Spiritual & Personal Development
The Fellowship fosters personal, spiritual and professional development through daily devotions and relationships with pastoral leaders and mentors from the congregation.
The Fellowship is a community of peers, from diverse backgrounds and vocations, who are committed to each other’s spiritual growth and calling to serve the common good of the city.
At Redemption we believe that change happens when we begin to apply the redemptive power of the gospel in real and tangible ways to the church and the world. We believe that the gospel message is not only a story of personal salvation but of God working through his church to redeem all aspects of culture. This means that as a church we are seeking to equip individual Christians to bring cultural renewal to their unique spheres of influence throughout the city. To apply the gospel in all spheres of life requires sound theological/spiritual formation, a focused vision toward God’s redemptive purposes for the entirety of creation experienced within a committed community. This is the focus of Redemption Denver, and that is why we are partnering with Gotham Fellowship.
Gotham was recently the subject of a New York University study “An Exploratory Study of Transformative Learning as Professional Leadership Development“. The study proposed that “21st century leaders are faced with more complex challenges than ever before. Research suggests that leaders who have a deep sense of self awareness, emotional capacity for change and a connection with a higher power are better prepared to address these challenges.” The study compared results from a secular leadership development course developed at Harvard, and results from the Gotham Fellowship, and concluded that “the comprehensive approach of Authentic Leadership Development and the Gotham Fellowship was the program component that best facilitated transformative learning in participants”.
Tuition helps offset program expenses and includes three retreats, six Saturday specials, weekly classes, access to the online learning portal, reading plans, materials published by Gotham Fellowship CFW and textbooks. If cost is an issue that would keep you from participating, please contact us to discuss payment plans and financial aid.
TUITION $2,150 (EARLY PAYMENT DISCOUNTS ARE AVAILABLE)
